Tim Cook is my hero in engineering, not just because of he is the CEO of Apple, but also because he embodies the spirit of an industrial engineer. My high school background in Physics, Statistics, and Economics fuelled my passion for numbers and data. So when it came to college decision, I was naturally attracted to IEDA.

What excites me about IEDA is its dynamic nature, both in curriculum and career prospects. We prioritize data-driven decision-making, a practical skill that is highly transferable across various industries, paving the way for successful careers in fields such as financial engineering, consulting, engineering management, and logistics management.

At the HKUST School of Engineering, the opportunities are limitless. I honed my interpersonal skills through active participation in the Engineering Students’ Union and the Engineering Student Ambassador Program. Collaborating with others, I embraced an open-minded and rational approach to solving real-life challenges. Additionally, my involvement in the Ripples Fellowship, a co-curricular program focused on design thinking and community building, was particularly rewarding as I had the chance to train my peers to become trainers.

The hard skills and practical knowledge I gained at HKUST School of Engineering and IEDA have equipped me to secure a graduate position at Sino Group as a management trainee. I am eager to apply my data analytics skills in a real-world setting and make a meaningful impact!
